All Clone Rules follow HDKA Rules and are subject to change as needed

 

MUST HAVE AT LEAST 3 KARTS TO PAYOUT A CLASS

Track Rules

· All drivers must wear proper racing gear at all times (helmet, neck brace, jacket, gloves, etc).

· Children that are 15 years of age will be allowed to race in adult classes, if they have a birthday during our racing season. You will need to show proof.

· All parents need to sign a release form for their children to race. This will be mandatory! This will be a one time release kept on file.

· Driver’s under the age of 16 must show proof of age.

 

· Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated, and will result in disqualification. Drivers are responsible for the actions of crew members. No cursing at officials, other racers, or spectators. No fighting.  No crew member will be allowed onto the track area without approval from track officials. Drivers will be subject to disqualification if any crew member does not follow the track rules or does not behave in a proper manner. Crew members are not allowed to jump the fence/rail at any time. It is the responsibility of every person in the pits to act in a sportsmanlike manner.

· Weapons, Drugs or Alcohol will not be tolerated. Violations will result in removal from premises.

 

· All drivers are expected to make the pit areas clean before they leave.

· All engine oils and fuels will need to be emptied in oil barrels. Please do not empty on ground. Do not place in trash or leave jugs of oil in pits anywhere. Thank you for your cooperation.

· Driver’s must attend drivers meetings. This will be mandatory!! No exceptions!

· Inspections areas and scoring area are off limits during all race events.

· The track reserves the right to tech any engine or kart at any time. Anyone refusing tech will be disqualified.

· All karts must have clear visible numbers, or will not be scored.

· All weights must be bolted on with 5/16 or larger bolts and must be double nutted or cotter keyed. All weights must be painted white with their number either stamped or painted on the weights. If any weights come off a kart during a race that kart will be disqualified.

 

· If a driver is disqualified or black flagged for any reason, he must exit the track immediately.

· Anyone entering "hot area" i.e. scales too fast at any time the kart being represented will be disqualified

· Crew members cannot approach karts in scale area until the kart is at the scales.

· There will be a 5 minute hold for protest for the top 3 or 5 karts (depending on the kart count) after crossing the scale.

· Do not leave the scale area until told to do so by the scale official.

· Anyone not crossing the scales will be disqualified (heats or main).

 

· While one race is on the track, the next class must be lined up on the grid, ready to go.

· If you are not on the grid and ready to race when your class is released onto the track, You will be given only the parade lap to enter the track and assume your position. This is at tracks discretion as there is often confusion when karts enter late.  If you are late we will try to get you in your spot but no guarantee. Be on time.

· All races we will attempt two "double file"  start and then if they can not get it correct they will go to a single file start.

· On Gas when flag drops. This is a change from before watch the flagman.

 

· Any Rough driving will get 1 black flag warning and then black flagged next occurrence. Officials are to clean up ruff driving. It is their Job  Karts attempting to rough drive another by running them up the track or down the track will not be tolerated.

 

· Any spins and 1 or 2 karts go to rear:

· If alone spinner goes to rear if spun they both go to the rear!!!

· No caution, unless kart or driver is in danger. Deliberate spin or stopping on track to "bait" caution will result in disqualification.

· Cautions will be thrown as needed for safety they will be full track cautions.

· Any kart that can not proceed after 2 laps of caution must be immediately removed from the track.

· Decisions made by the flagman and/or race director are final.

· If you cause 3 cautions in any event, you will be black flagged off the track until your next race. The exceptions to this rule will be Jr classes unless the official thinks there is a problem with the driving or kart that is causing the problem.

· Rain Delays and payouts will be as follows. If you get your 2 heats in we will pay based on the feature line up. If you do not get in your 2 heats we will scratch everything and start new show on rain date.  Money will stay with track until new date.

· Rain Delays during heats and/or feature will be called based on the flagman’s determination of track safety. If he stops the race at any time for a rain delay, you need to exit the track immediately. The race director and/or flagman will determine if it is safe to return to the track. Drivers need to finish the race before they will get scored.

· We will be having time limits on heats and features. 1 minute for each scheduled lap

TECH RULES

 

· WILL BE RUNNING WKA ENGINE RULES.

· MUFFLERS ARE OPTIONAL. LOOP HEADERS MUST BE WRAPPED!

· Protests are $100 to protest and $50 to accept
$25 goes to tech man $25 goes to Track
If protest finds an illegal motor the protestor gets his $100 back and the motor owner is disqualified
If Motor is found to be legal motor Owner gets $50 plus his $50 back.
Anyone refusing tech will be DQ'd and banned from the track.

· ANY DISORDERLY CONDUCT IN THE TECH AREA WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

· ALL GO KARTS SHOULD BE SAFETY CHECKED BEFORE HOT LAPPING.  Must have marking sticker on kart before allowed on track.

 

TIRE RULE

 

· Open Tire Rule, and brand or compound of slick or treaded racing tire.
Prepping is allowed.

 

FLAGS AND LIGHTS
FLAGS AND LIGHTS MUST BE OBEYED AT ALL TIMES WITHOUT QUESTION!!!

 

· Green light / green flag = start of race or practice

· Yellow light / yellow flag = caution on track, slow down immediately. Hold your position and DO NOT race back to flag .

· Red light / red flag = come to a complete stop

· Blue flag with yellow stripe = another kart is about to overtake you. This flag means to go to the top of the track and out of the way. Any violations will result in disqualification( we do not use this flag)

· Black flag

· rolled in flagman's hand = warning that your driving or actions are unsafe and will not be tolerated.

· Waved at you = Please exit the track, it can be discipline or a safety issue

· White Flag = One Lap Remaining

· Checkered flag = end of race, please slow down and pull off the track.

OVERHEAD VALVE BLUE MOTOR CLASS  (CLONE CLASS) 

FOLLOWS HOOSIER DIRT KARTING ALLIANCE RULES

· The only motor allowed in this class is the Jiang-Dong, Blue Max, Greyhound harbor freight 6.5 horsepower motors (BLUE MOTORS)

· 87 Octane Pump Gas Only!

· 196 cc only!

· The only modifications to this motor allowed are taking out the governor and oil sensor and running the spec header.

· Shoe type clutch only!! Noram and MaqTorque are a few of the shoe types.

· May use any gear except Jr Rookie Class

· May Use remote tank

· 35 chain only!

· Gas cap must be tightened. Either by securely duct taping the top or a form fitting gas cap.

· Stock exhaust or pipe may be used, but it has to be the same as J&M Motor Sports spec pipe. (3/4”od 5/8”ID 11” to 14” long)

· No porting or polishing on motors.

· No fuel additives.

· No oil additives.

· Anyone refusing tech will be not be allowed to race in teched classes again for 1 year.

· Anyone refusing Claim will be DQ’ed

· There is also a $150.00 claim rule. The claim rule is for motors only!! You must be in that class to be able to claim the motor. All Claimed Motors may be teched if the track feels it is illegal, and if internal parts are found to be Illegal Track will confiscate the illegal parts and the claimer gets the money back, and the owner is DQ’ed, once a claimed motor leaves the tech area it is the claimers job to assure its legality for future races. The claim does not include add ons such as pipe, chain guards, fuel pump etc.

· Track reserves the right to buy and/or tech any motors.

 

 

Safety Rules 2010

 

Driver Safety Equipment

· Full face helmet with Shield

· Neck Brace

· Abrasion resistant Jacket

· Pants, no shorts  (Denim pants minimum)

· Gloves

 

Kart Equipment

· Minimum must have side nerf bars and rear and front bumpers

· Fiberglass, composite, or plastic bodywork ONLY, No sheet metal ! *Except RWYB style wedge bodies

· Numbers must be readable Numbers Required on sides, rear and front.

· Steering wheel hub must be mounted using a cotter pin or quick pin.

· Steering wheel must be mounted to hub using a minimum of 2 lock nuts. Safety wire or pins will also be accepted.

· Tie Rod Ends must use either Pins or Jam nuts.

· Front spindle must use a pin or lock nut or jam nut to retain the spindle nut and bolt, also on the hub mount.

· Brake Master Cylinder mount must have a minimum of 1 lock nut or pin

· Brake caliper MUST use Cotter pins, Safety clips, or Safety Wire.

· Brakes MUST be in working order and WILL be tested

· Brake Rotor must have a minimum of 2 staggered lock nuts, lock washers, pins, safety wire, or safety pins

· Chain Guard required.

· Bumper bolts must use Lock nuts, pins, or safety wire

· Axle lock collars are required on the outside of the rear bearings, Minimum.

· Axle keyway must be secured with tape at a minimum.

· Header pipe cannot extend past rear bumper or outside of the kart on either side past the axle edge.

· Remote fuel tank must be mounted using a minimum of 2 staggered bolts. MUST be mounted on floor pan * Except RWYB

· Weights must be secured with minimum of Lock nut and 5/16 bolt and include the Kart number on the weight.

· Methanol or Gasoline Only. No additives

 

All Karts are REQUIRED to go through and PASS inspection. We will do our best to help you bring your kart to spec if there is an issue. If you Do Not PASS inspection and do not fix the issue you WILL NOT be allowed to race.

Passing the Safety inspection does not give any right of action against the Track or Associates in the event of a accident or breakage. These are a set of rules for YOUR safety. Racing is a dangerous sport and the track or it’s associates cannot be held responsible. Passing the Safety inspection is merely another view of your kart and in no way states that your kart is safe.

 

The Track Safety Inspector Reserves the right to deem ANY kart unsafe to race if he/she finds that the kart is not suitable for racing, even if it has passed the safety inspection (Examples include cracked frames, poorly built chassis, poorly working equipment, etc).

 

 Any kart that develops loose body work, etc will be given the opportunity to have it removed from the kart during the race. If it cannot be removed, the kart will be removed from the track for repair for the next race. Bumpers WILL have to be replaced immediately before continuing.

 

If the damage is too great according to the safety inspector the kart will be removed from the track to be repaired for the next race.

 

 Any kart that must be repaired between races will need to be Re-inspected by the Safety Inspector. It is up to YOU to let a track official know that you need to be re-inspected. If you are not re-inspected you will not be allowed back on the track.
